The Four Gables was one of the late additions to the West Hollywood skyline. Its interiors were well-appointed and fully furnished with fine antiques, maid service, security, and chauffeurs on staff. Its designer, Leland Bryant, was born in Michigan in 1891. He is known in California as a master of luxury apartment houses, building designs that range from Modern to Period Revival. Bryant collaborated with Samuel Coine to create the Four Gables and thereafter went on to design the Sunset Tower Hotel, Savoy Plaza Apartments, Beau Sejour, Granville Towers and La Fontaine.
Recognizing that this symbol of elegant "old Hollywood" represents a special moment in time, the current owners have preserved and restored the beautiful, elegant French gardens, historic wood and metal work, moldings, wainscoting, finials, and sconces. They have also replaced and laid new ceramic, glass, and marble tile, as well as refinished hardwood floors throughout each floor of the property.
