CREATING A SENSE OF PLACE

What started as a concept evolved into a central theme to create a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor living. Three residential buildings frame an open-air courtyard meant for gathering, lounging, entertaining or simply enjoying Santa Monica’s temperate climate. The buildings collectively provide the foundation for a sculpturally articulated and materially rich exterior design that blends flawlessly with the surroundings. The buildings feature a geometric exterior enhanced by warm, natural materials, including recycled wood composite and cement panels and plaster. Stainless steel, aluminum and glass guardrails add a contemporary style to create a dynamic presence along 14th Street.

JFAK’s use of light and space results in interiors and exteriors that draw the outdoors in and blend beautifully with the landscape. Bright, open interiors welcome natural light and coastal air while extending the living experience to the outdoors. Lofty ceilings and glass walls add volume and scale, and open-concept floor plans provide a fresh, clean canvas for the modern lifestyle.
